Here, in the heart of North Canterbury, we’re fortunate to have vast spaces and a climate that allows our liveries to live outdoors for much of the year, which makes all the difference to their well-being and happiness. Every horse that arrives with us is carefully observed first: their temperament, routines, and any little quirks or needs, so the transition is smooth and they quickly settle in. With my team, we make sure to keep a close eye on each one, whether it’s daily grooming, paddock management, or simply checking that everyone is happy morning and evening. We also like riders to feel at home when they come to visit their horse: taking the time to chat, sharing updates, or offering advice if needed—it’s what turns a livery arrangement into a real relationship of trust.
